A dense, man-made pine forest gives way to sandy dunes and a wide beach at the northern end of the Domitio coast. This protected area, was established on reclaimed marshland and offers a varied landscape of shaded pine canopy, open heath and Mediterranean scrub. A network of flat, sandy paths allows for easy walking through the different environments, from the forest floor to the dunes where sea lilies (*Pancratium maritimum*) grow. great views across the Gulf of Gaeta and towards the Aurunci Mountains.

from the SS7 Via Appia, at the crossing of the Garigliano river , take the road on the Campania (south) side that runs west along the riverbank; a restaurant and a tobacconist mark the turning. Follow this road for about 2km, keeping the river on your right. Where the road begins to curve away from the river, turn right into a large, unpaved clearing and park. footpaths lead towards the sea forcabout 3km.
